About School Launch
Free, complete classical Christian courses for homeschool families and small schools, built by Christian parents, teachers and craftsmen who share what they know.
Not a school, and not accredited
School Launch is a free, helpful tool for families and schools. It is not an accredited or certified school, curriculum provider or school resource.
- We do not issue credits, transcripts, diplomas or grades of record.
- Placement checks, year plans and gradebook grades are informal guides to help you decide and keep track. They are not official results.
- Parents and schools are responsible for meeting their own state or local requirements, including attendance, subjects, testing, credits and record-keeping.
Not sure what your state requires? Check with your state's homeschool association or department of education, or with your school's accrediting body.
What we make
School Launch writes its own courses (math from Pre-Algebra through Trigonometry and Statistics, English Grammar and Composition, Latin, Greek and Spanish, Geography, the sciences, Art, PE, and the practical arts of cooking, sewing, gardening, business and the trades), plus Explore Tracks for curious children. Every lesson has a worked example or true story, practice with answers, a hands-on project and Scripture where it fits. Every course downloads as one printable PDF.
We also keep a curated Directory of trusted resources from other creators, a list of contests worth entering and channels worth watching.
What we believe
We equip families and students to learn independently, branch into new subjects and master real skills, so that children grow like Bezalel, whom God “filled… with the spirit of God, in wisdom… and in all manner of workmanship” (Exodus 31:3).
- Honor the family’s calling. Parents are their children’s first teachers (Deuteronomy 6:6–7). We serve families and never replace them.
- Share gifts generously (1 Peter 4:10).
- Unite mind and hands. Academics and trades are one whole, with Christ at the center.
- Sharpen one another (Proverbs 27:17).
- Pursue excellence and beauty (Colossians 3:23).
School Launch stands with the historic Christian faith as summarized in the Apostles’ Creed.
Who we are
I'm Jerad Shoemaker, MD. A dad of three kids from the Pacific Northwest, trying to help my family and other families get access to educational materials in a world where information is free. Education shouldn't be a barrier.
