Elementary Math

A complete arithmetic course from counting to fractions and decimals, ready for Pre-Algebra. Every idea is shown with objects first, then pictures and bar models, then the standard written method. Daily fact practice builds instant recall. Word problems come from the farm, the workshop, the market and the Bible, and each unit opens with a verse from the King James Bible.

How every lesson works

Each grade is one school year: 8 units of 4 weekly lessons, plus an optional review unit. Every day follows the same routine:

  • Warm-up. Oral counting, skip counting and mental math.
  • Facts. A few minutes of fact practice, with a timed drill on Fridays and a fact-mastery tracker.
  • New idea. Concrete first (counters, blocks, coins), then a picture or bar model, then the written method.
  • Worked examples. Two examples with every step shown.
  • Practice. Ten problems, easy to hard, with step-by-step answers.
  • Worksheets. Two one-page worksheets (A and B) for every lesson, each with a step-by-step answer key.

Unit checks, a placement check and end-of-year tests have keys. Every answer and every step in every key was recomputed by a separate checking program. Grades 3–5 include optional short Math Antics videos where they fit; Kindergarten to Grade 2 has no videos.
