Grade 4 Spanish
A quarter in which Spanish moves into the house and walks through the year: the flower-filled patios of Córdoba and the first printing press in the Americas, a queen's calendar and the Three Kings, Goya's snowstorm and grape harvest, a cup of chocolate and a shepherd counting his flock, each story opening a door to rooms and school things, the days and months, the weather and the seasons, and first little sentences with hay, me gusta and tengo, until the quarter ends with the Padre Nuestro prayed by heart.

Grading: Recitation and flashcards (daily speaking, vocabulary reviews, chants and the prayer) 30%, Spanish notebook (dated pages, word lists, sentences, drawings) 25%, Practice (both directions, corrected with the answer key) 15%, Unit reviews 15%, Unit challenges 15%. Scale: A 90–100, B 80–89, C 70–79, D 60–69. Below 60: repeat the chants and practice with help.
